Tenant News

Dear Tenants,

Each year since 2004, we have been charged by the City Council with the responsibility of reviewing slip rates and suggesting an increase in line with increases in the CPI. We have done our best to keep these increases to a minimum, usually suggesting increases well under the CPI and City Council has accepted our recommendations. The last increase was in 2008. In 2010, we actually had a small decrease as the CPI decreased. Last year City Council went along with our recommendation of no increase. After absorbing the increase in operating expenses for the last three years, we find that we need to raise our prices to help cover the rising cost of operating the marinas. The CPI increase from June 2010 to June 2011 was 3.6%. We asked for only 2.6% and the counsel agreed. The new rates will go into effect October 1. A new rate sheet is on the back of this letter for your information. Please adjust your payments accordingly with your October remittance.

Also please be aware that the time for prepayment is now. If you pay for the whole year before October 10th, you will receive an 8.33% discount that is equal to a free month. You pay for eleven months, get one free. We only do this at the time the October slip rental is due as it coincides with our fiscal year and simplifies the bookkeeping. If you have any questions or want to know the exact amount of your prepay, please call Diana at 872 7272.
